Kone- ja tuotantotekniikan koulutusohjelman tavoite on antaa valmiudet monipuolisiin yksityisen ja julkisen sektorin suunnittelu-, tutkimus-, tuotanto-, markkinointi- , projektointi-, vienti- ja hallintotehtäviin. Koulutusohjelma antaa myös valmiuksia toimia itsenäisenä yrittäjänä.

Kone- ja tuotantotekniikan koulutusohjelman tavoite on antaa valmiudet monipuolisiin yksityisen ja julkisen sektorin suunnittelu-, tutkimus-, tuotanto-, markkinointi- , projektointi-, vienti- ja hallintotehtäviin. Koulutusohjelma antaa myös valmiuksia toimia itsenäisenä yrittäjänä.

Opiskelija tutustuu koneisiin ja energiateknisiin laitteisiin purkamalla ja tutkimalla laitekokonaisuuden. Opiskelija saa perustiedot konetekniikasta.

Koneiden ja laitteiden osakokonaisuuksien merkityksen hahmottaminen.

I-KT-4  Oman kone- tai järjestelmäinnovaation suunnittelu ja toteutus
Suuntautumisvaihtoehtoehto 1 (Energiateollisuuden 3D-kone- ja laitesuunnittelun suuntautumisvaihtoehto) valmentaa opiskelijaa toimimaan teollisuuden tuotekehitys ja -suunnittelutiimin jäsenenä. Hän oppii tuntemaan tuotteen suunnittelun sekä komponenttien mitoituksen, valmistuksen ja kokoonpanon periaatteet. Opiskelija oppii käyttämään eri suunnittelutyökaluja ja osaa soveltaa niitä käytännön tuotekehitysprojektissa. Hän ymmärtää valmistettavuuden ja kokoonpanon vaatimusten tärkeyden tuotteen suunnittelussa. Opiskelija osaa dokumentoida työnsä tulokset ja julkaista ne tuotetiedon hallintajärjestelmässä.

Suuntautumisvaihtoehto 2 (Energiateollisuuden kansainvälisen projektijohtamisen suuntautumisvaihtoehto) antaa opiskelijalle valmiudet toimia teollisuuden, erityisesti energiateollisuuden, kansainvälisissä projektointitehtävissä. Hän osaa toteuttaa liiketoimintaa tukevia toiminnan kehittämisprojekteja. Hän ymmärtää projektin markkinoinnin merkityksen ja tuntee projektin läpiviennissä tarvittavat projektin ohjaamisen työkalut sekä projektin toteuttamisessa tarvittavat ohjausmenetelmät. Hän tuntee myös laitekokonaisuuksien ohjauksessa tarvittavien järjestelmien ominaispiirteet. Juonteen tavoitteena on myös valmentaa opiskelija projektijohtamisen alimman tason IPMA sertifikaatin suorittamiseen.
