Free-choice Studies

The purpose of the free-choice studies is to expand and deepen students' professional knowledge. These studies can be selected from an array provided by Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu (VAMK), University of Applied Sciences, or from the studies provided by other universities. Studies that are completed elsewhere have to be agreed on beforehand with the Head of Department. Such studies are entered to the study register only on the basis of an application.

Free-choice language studies are provided e.g. in German, Italian, Russian and Spanish. Beside the basic courses, the purpose is also to arrange continuation courses, courses in oral skills and working language courses. The scope of free-choice language courses is usually 3 credits. The supply of courses varies from year to year and sometimes courses in more rare languages, such as Chinese, are provided.

Free-choice studies provided by VAMK are always held on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 15.15. These times are scheduled for free-choice studies only.

The 3rd and 4th year students who lack some free-choice studies take priority in enrolling.

Enrolment takes place through the WinhaWille system, unless otherwise indicated.
