WLAN Connection
There is a WLAN network infrastructure in the Palosaari campus area and on Raastuvankatu, which makes wireless networking possible within the school/campus area (VAMK and the University of Vaasa). The speed varies from between 11-54 Mbps and follows the 802.11 (802.11b and 802.11g) standard.
PCWN
More information available at http://wlan.puv.fi/.
WLAN username and password
The WLAN support station is indicated with PCWN (Palosaari Campus Wireless Network) which will appear in the connection window of the network driver. When the support station is accepted, start the browser (connect to any URL address), which will redirect the URL and forward the user to an identification page. During the identification a username and password will be required. The username is in the same form as the Linux and Windows AD username (except that domain part is included, e.g. e0501234@puv.fi) and the password is the same as for the Linux and Windows AD user account.
