Student feedback on study units

An electronic student feedback system is taken into use instead of the paper questionnaire at Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu (VAMK), University of Applied Sciences, starting from autumn 2005

Students can give feedback here (open one week after the end of the course):

Teachers read the given feedback here:

Instructions how to use the study unit feedback system here:
http://www.puv.fi/en/studentservices/studies/studyunitfeedback/instructions

The students give feedback electronically for the first time at the end of the first period. In the future this will take place after each period has ended. The system automatically sends the students participating in the study unit a reminder of giving feedback. Feedback can be given during one week after the study unit has ended.

A prerequisite for giving feedback is that the student has enrolled on the study unit through WinhaWille and has participated in contact teaching. In the feedback the student estimates in percentage his/her amount of participation in contact teaching. The students’ answers are completely anonymous. The feedback goes anonymously to the teacher of the study unit.

The teacher has a possibility to add her/his own questions in the e-form. The teacher can utilise the feedback in the planning, implementation and assessment of the study unit. The superiors of teachers have a right to see the feedback summaries.

In accordance with the user roles registered in Winha, each registered user is shown the windows belonging to his/her user name. The staff logs onto the system using the same 3-character user names which is used in other systems as well.

The study unit system (e-forms) contains the following registers:

  • Teacher register (the same as in the WinhaPro system)
  • Student register (the same as in the WinhaPro system)
  • Teachers’ superiors (the same as in the WinhaPro system)
  • Study unit implementations (the same as in the WinhaPro system)
  • Anonymous feedback (the students give anonymously).

The study unit feedback system is used to develop the instruction and its quality at VAMK.
