Excellent degree programmes at VAMK
In Vaasa University of Applied Sciences there are 17 degree programmes, 3 conducted in English, 11 in Finnish and 3 in Swedish.
The studies consist of Basic Studies and Professional Basic Studies, Specialised Professional Studies, Optional Studies, Practical Training and a Thesis.

ECTS
Higher education studies are measured in credits (opintopiste (fi) / studiepoäng (sv)). Study courses are quantified according to the work load required. One year of studies is equivalent to 1,600 hours of student work on the average and is defined as 60 credits. Bachelor´s Degree
The first-cycle university of applied sciences degrees at VAMK consists of 210 or 240 credits (3.5 to 4 years of full-time studying) depending on the study field. The first-cycle university of applied sciences degree is called ammattikorkeakoulututkinto (fi) / yrkeshögskoleexamen (sv). The English translation for the degree is Bachelor’s degree. The Diploma Supplement is issued in English, free of charge, to every student upon graduation.
