Pick-Up Service
We highly recommend the international students to arrive to Vaasa during weekdays (Mon – Fri). Please note, that VAMK does not have any dormitories or reception, so if you arrive to Vaasa after office hours (after 16:00 = 4 p.m.) you are on your own. This is unless you have contacted us in advance about late arrival; then we can try to arrange some kind of reception for you. If you arrive to Vaasa on Friday evening or during the weekend, you have to stay in a hostel or a hotel until Monday morning when VAMK opens its doors. So that is also one good reason, why you should have some money with you when you arrive in Vaasa.
For exchange students the International Office offers pick-up service. In order to get this they need to fill in the pick-up_request.doc.
For degree students there is no pick-up service and therefore the students have to arrange their arrival in such a way, that they are able to arrange their accommodation and other practical matters in a proper way.
