The multi-field and international VAMK offers high-quality theoretical and practical education multilingually. The degrees are internationally competitive academic degrees.

The selection of multi-field degree programmes was built so that the needs set by the local business and industrial life to the graduating experts, were taken into account. The local business and industry are characterised by wide export industry based on high technology with special emphasis on energy technology, traditional Ostrobothnic entrepreneurship and tourism together with social and health services leaning on these. Therefore, VAMK is building its profile in the areas of High Technology, International Business and Tourism as well as Highly Developed Health and Social Services.

VAMK has collaborative universities all over the world. In addition to the international co-operation mainly in Europe, the student exchange has also been active e.g. with universities in the Far East. At the moment, VAMK has 300 foreign degree and exchange students from about 40 countries.

The student is the key person. We, the staff of VAMK provide a setting to ensure a successful completion of a degree and good contacts with working life. One of the objectives of VAMK is to develop an international and customer-oriented operation method, especially within research and development. Close co-operation with business and industrial life is needed to achieve this objective.

The improvement of the study environment and the quality of operation is also our number one priorities. When the contents of education and general quality meet the needs of the future global society and business life, we have succeeded in doing our share in the future of the individuals and of whole Finland.

The development of VAMK will continue because the world around us changes. VAMK will continue to contribute to the development of the Vaasa region in terms of significant additional value.
