Health Care and Social Services

The Unit for Health Care and Social Services educates about 300 students in its degree programmes of nursing, public health nursing and social services.

The facilities of the unit are located in the centre of the city of Vaasa. Classrooms for theoretical and practical studies, an auditorium, a language lab, computer rooms, a library, a restaurant for students, a gym, offices and quiet rooms for personal studies form a uniquely pleasant and functional learning and working environment.

Classrooms for practical studies are equipped for simulation and demonstration of various health care exercises. Such facilities include an operating theatre, a recovery ward, facilities for paediatric, surgical, internal disease, basic, first aid, anatomical and physiological as well as psychiatric health care.

Internationality is distinctive for the Unit for Health Care and Social Services whose cooperation network includes partners in the Nordic countries, Spain, Thailand, England, Latvia and China.
