Department of Information Processing

A total of 300 students receive instruction in the Department of Information Technology, one third in the Swedish language. The majority study full-time in the daytime but we also offer adult part-time studies leading toward a Bachelor’s Degree.

The degree programme of Information Processing provides the students with skills and knowledge for a professional career in information processing in the field of administration and business. In addition gained insight into information management and the possibilities of information technology in business, students graduate with wide understanding of and competence in telecommunications, application design or digital business services.

Studies in Information Technology prepare the students for work in positions of supervision, design, planning, development, training, support and education for example as systems analysts, system designers, database administrators, data communications planners, programmers, project managers, information systems managers, personal support advisors or instructors.

The instruction given, besides being practically oriented, goes hand in hand with independent, group and virtual studies in the Web. Students also have access to modern computer facilities and programmes as well as to a well-equipped library and its information services.
