The corporate world needs ICT experts with a commercial mindset. Companies are facing ever new challenges through the development of mobile services, the utilisation of social media and the growth of cloud computing services and digital media. The Degree Programme in Business Information Technology will make you a qualified ICT expert. As a Bachelor of Business Administration specialising in information technology, you will have a wide-ranging perception of the possibilities of ICT applications in business. Our students specialise either in building Internet and mobile services and data systems, and also in setting up these services on an open-source basis, or in Internet or digital content production. Learning is supported by expert instructors and a modern learning environment.

Occupational Profiles

Professional competence is created through cooperation projects with the region’s ICT companies, which also give students the opportunity to practise their teamwork skills. The degree programme offers you opportunities to participate in national and international projects, or research projects, especially with open-source products.

Professional Competence

Professional growth, know-how of tools and instruments, competence with ICT equipment, know-how of data systems, the commercialism and usability of services, communication and interaction skills (especially in English), business know-how.

General Competence in Working Life

Time management, ethical competence, innovation skills, organisation and societal know-how, competence in international affairs.

Professional Specialisation Studies

Building Internet and Mobile Services: designing network services, managing databases, Internet applications, mobile programming, implementing network services, testing and maintaining programmes.

Data Communication Solutions for Internet and Mobile Services: operating systems, local area networks, network information security, server products and applications, data communications and information networks, company-specific information networks.

Internet or digital content production:graphic production tools, content production online, the Internet and multimedia, multimedia production tools, video photography and editing, 3D modelling and animations.

Students can supplement their specialised professional studies by (1) carrying out ICT projects at the Company Clinic, (2) participating in the activities of the Business Factory, (3) taking studies abroad, or (4) complementing their know-how with studies from another field.

Optional Studies These are studies of your own choice whose purpose is to expand or deepen your professional competence.

Practical Training Practical training in the ICT field (5 months).

Bachelor’s Thesis The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis is to show that the student has mastered the key issues of their profession and can independently solve problems and document results.
